The unveiling of a new collection is always a source of anticipation and excitement at Etxeondo. Always, our aim is that each generation of clothing surpasses the previous one, but perhaps, both in its overall vision and in the detail, our 2021 spring/summer collection stands out for its freshness and diversity. As we launch the new collection, we sat down with María Jesús and Amaia, the mother and daughter team responsible for Etxeondo’s designs, to hear their perspective on the new range. At first glance, perhaps the diversity is the element that would stand out the most:
“It is a very complete collection. Perhaps it is the most complete and diverse collection Etxeondo has ever made. We have managed to reach very different users, but without losing the essence and identity of Etxeondo.”
“When I look at the entire collection, what strikes me the most are the colours. It has been a total change. We have opted for new colours; we came from being somewhat more conservative and we wanted to take risks. We have broken some new ground there,” says Amaia.
Again, the collection is based around three categories, aimed at three different types of rider, with three different ways of understanding cycling.
“It doesn’t mean that a rider always has to choose the same family of products. We do not want to pigeonhole them. The same user can pick garments of different categories. But it is true that each range represents a different style and mood, a different attitude with which to go cycling.”
Pro is the performance-oriented family that uses technology and materials proven at the top level of professional cycling. It is also the one that best represents the essence and background of Etxeondo.
